Principal’s Welcome

Respecting aspirations, walking together, achieving our goals.

Kia ora Whanau

2024 is upon us and we embrace a new year working with your tamariki.

Here at Tikipunga Primary we have a curriculum that is responsive and reflective of who we are as a community. Our curriculum is based on our school values of Ako Runga, Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga, and Pono. We want to immerse our students in learning experiences that are authentic, meaningful, and purposeful. We are proud of our learning and we love to share everything we do with our community and friends.

It is such a privilege to be the Tumuaki of such an amazing kura. We are situated in the best community, with the best tamariki and boasting a fantastic teaching staff.

We have more exciting property projects taking place this year. Our new obstacle course is near completion, and we are looking forward to bringing on two brand new classrooms to keep up with our growing roll. We are hoping to see the refurbishment of our library space so that is reflective of all the amazing learning that we do in that space. There are going to be a lot changes in and around our kura so watch this space.

This year is the second year of our Literacy Intervention which has seen huge academic improvements for our tauira. We are also starting an extension Writers Group this year too.

Whanau, I look forward to working with you for another year. Let’s make this a year to remember!

Nga mihi
