Principal’s Welcome
Kia taki manawa ai te aronga wawata, te ekenga hoki o pae tawhiti;
Respecting aspirations, walking together, achieving our goals.
It is a privilege to lead a kura grounded in Ako Runga, Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga, and Pono. These values shape our culture, guide our decisions, and sit at the heart of our curriculum and relationships.
At Tikipunga Primary, our staff and curriculum is responsive to our community and designed to nurture the whole child. We believe tamariki learn best when learning is authentic, hands-on, and connected to their interests and aspirations. Our students experience a broad and rich range of opportunities — from inquiry learning and cultural experiences to leadership, service, sport, and the arts.
Alongside these experiences, we place strong emphasis on structured literacy and numeracy programmes to ensure every child develops the foundational skills needed for lifelong success. We are proud to be a KiVa and Zones of Regulation school, prioritising wellbeing, emotional literacy, and a safe, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Our strengths in sport, culture, and the arts showcase who we are as a kura — vibrant, talented, and proud of our identity. We celebrate success, honour diversity, and work in partnership with whānau to ensure our tamariki thrive.
At Tikipunga Primary School, we are more than a school — together, we create learning environments where every child is known, valued, and supported to succeed.
We warmly invite you to visit and experience the wairua of our kura for yourself.
